About
Hi —
I'm Este.
I'm in my third year at art school in Amsterdam. I paint, I sew, I tattoo a little, and I keep finding new things I want to try. This site is the closest thing I have to a studio window — everything I'm making, in one place.
I work slowly and don't really plan. Most pieces start with a fabric scrap, a sketch in the margin of a notebook, or a colour I can't stop thinking about. I'd rather make one thing carefully than ten things quickly.
What I do
A few things, on purpose.
- 01
Painting
Oil and acrylic on linen, board and paper. Mostly soft figurative, occasional still life. Slow work — one painting takes a few weeks.
- 02
Tattoo flash
Fine-line flash designs, mostly repeatable. I take walk-ins at a friend's studio in West a couple of times a month.
- 03
Handmade garments
Cut-and-sewn from deadstock and thrifted fabric. Small batches, almost always one-of-one. Imperfections kept on purpose.
- 04
Upcycling
Reworking existing pieces — vintage denim, sun-faded skirts, things rescued from Waterlooplein — into something new.
- 05
Prints & zines
Mostly risograph, printed at Knust in Nijmegen. Editions are small, paper stocks are warm.
